PRESS RELEASE
A 59-year-old man died Thursday night from traumatic injuries sustained after he was struck by a pickup truck on South Highway 11 near Walhalla.
This incident was reported at approximately 7:20 pm.
The deceased was crossing Highway 11 when he was struck by a truck travelling south toward Walhalla. He died at the scene.
It appears the deceased has no local address and may be homeless.
He has been positively identified by fingerprints and identified as Michael Sid Green.
Mr. Green, a Caucasian male, has past addresses in the states of Ohio; Mississippi; Virginia; Tennessee and Florida. He is approximately 6 feet tall, 225 pounds, with brown eyes and whitish / gray hair which is cut short.
Anyone in the Upstate area who may have any information on Mr. Green or possible relatives is asked to contact the Oconee County Coroner Office.
This collision is being investigated by the Walhalla Police Department.

Wreck on Blue Ridge BLVD

At about 1PM near Estes Heating and Air, two vehicle collision, one was a blue SUV and the other was a silver sedan.

The incident was a head on collision and local fire department was called to the scene as well as police for traffic control. The decision was made to call in life flight due to the severity of the accident. Both vehicles had damage so bad the people had to be extricated.
